yeah that's right i'm completely agree with that statement. i think doing TOO MANY homework can violate the students' right to enjoy their life time (especially for my class and all 12 graders). it's not fair we go to school early in the morning and go back home in the afternoon. we get tired because of that, we need rest at home, not doing homework. well if it's only a few it doesn't matter with me but the problem is the homework we got was too many and some of them forced us to do it with our friends because they were a group assignment. well this is true, last week it's like an "everyday i go to my friends' house to do hw". after going back from school i directly went to my friends' house in turns in order to accomplish our hw and went back home in the evening (about at 9:00pm)...this is what i did (and i'm sure it must be what my classmates did too) everyday a week ago. and because of that we rarely studied at home and got no time to do our hobbies (seriously that's so unfair). we (as a student) will not only use IQ to achieve our goals in the future but will also need our EQ and SQ as well. there's no point relying only on IQ, but we need the balance between IQ, EQ, and SQ. so i think doing homework is almost pointless (umm...ineffective) because homework can only force the students to do it as if it's like an obligation (and no more than that) but sadly they can't absorb the lesson from it well because they get too tired to study by doing homework after school. i guess studying by our own will is the best choice to learn well at home, NOT doing hw, so we can use some of our spare time to get rest, do our hobbies, and associate with our friends... I agree with that's statement that home work violet the right of the children,,, because by doing a lot of home work ,it can be decrease the time of the children to playing, and get funs.for example after go home the student should take a rest at home,but if they have a home work they must done their home work, so it's also can cause the children feel bored, stres, and very tired.Because almost all of their time in home they use to do alot of homework which given by their teacher. But in other side the home work also have a positive efect to the students , it can make students be a diligent , and review their lesson that their get in school. Ok I agree with that statement, because I am a student and i feel it. I must do a lot of homework everyday. And by doing a lot of homework everyday, my play time was decreased. Beside that I rarely study and I feel so tired because i use my study and rest time for doing homework. Giving a lot of homework for 12 grade is not fair because 12 graders must be concentrate to face final examination test and they must study hard. But a lot of homework make their study time just decreased so they will not ready to face the final examination test. According to the law, homework must be 60 percent from the total lesson hours. so giving a few home work is effective than giving a lot of homework. By giving a few homework student can do their hobbies, rest, and any others.
if that's the case then i think it'll be wise if the teachers only give hw to the students which can be done within less than an hour (just like how it should be) so the students won't be too tired or too busy with doing hw. well yeah it's true hw can train us to manage our time and to be clever, but i think too many hw can only make the students do it as an obligation instead of as a learning progress. pretty sad, but this is the fact, when there're too many hw to do, the chance for students to do cheating may increas as well. for example if we have chemistry, math, and biology hw at once and they must be submitted tomorrow while in the other side there'll be an exam in the same day, so what would the students do? that's right, the highest possibility would be: they'll decide to study, try to do the hw as they can, and try to finish the rest of the hw by cheating at school...lol. well that's not an unusual case anymore nowadays, at least that's what i've been thinking about.

If we have test in the tomorrow and the same times there are many homework for another subject. It will be disturb us to prepare out test. We must do our homework and the teacher didn’t want to know. The effect is we lost our times to study and spend our time at home with do homework.

In my opinion, for some lessons which are not included in the national exam, homework for the XIIth grade really helps the students to understand the material. Because they have to study the National exam lessons harder than the other lessons, in order to get pass it. Because of that condition, they will be less prepared in the lessons that excluded in National Exams, so the Teacher decided to give the students some homeworks, in order that the students will be more understand about the material of excluded National Exam lessons. But, I think the teacher HAVE TO THINK about THE CAPABILITY of the students in doing the homework, because the students have the other thing TO DO, beside DOING HOMEWORKS. So, WITH ALL THE RESPECT, in order to reach better result of learning/ studying activity, the the teacher have to consider the bad or good impact for their students when they are going to give the students some HOMEWORK to do... Yeah I think I agree with the statement that Homework can seize students' right to enjoy their childhood times to have fun. We can see it, when we were doing homeork or tasks, we spent much time for it. We can't do or thoght anything except.... yeah, the HOMEWORK and TASKS. Even the teacher are going to give an exam in the same time! Ugh it's very ennoying for us. ^_^ But in other case, Homework often supports students to learn more about the lesson. the final exam is three months to go, and we don't have a good preparation cause of the tons of tasks. In my thought, if this state keeps continuing, SMADA will be denoted as a school-with-so-much-tasks-to-be-done but i hope the teachers will reduce the tasks.

Yeah. Homework sometimes can support students to learn more. When we get some homework, we will try to do it well. We’ll spend a lot of time to find the answer ( try to do it with our friends or read some books which related with the subject). I know it will make us learn and learn more. But there are some negative effects when we get many homework. It will reduce the students’ right to enjoy their time to have fun or play with their friends. Having fun is our right, so if we just concentrate to do our homework, we don’t have time to have fun. Go to school in the morning, go home in the afternoon, and join some course. After that, sometimes I do my homework till evening maybe at 9pm. That is my daily activities. It makes me tired and have no time to study about final exam subject. I hope, teacher know about it and they will give less homework for us.

I think, if the teacher gives too many homework to their student, it will cause some negative effects for them, like this: The students lose their playing time, to do their hobbies, or maybe they just have less time to share with their family. Their time will be very seizured by homework. In the other side, the students also join some courses out of school time. Students often do homework in holiday, and they don't have enough time to take a rest. And if that fact happens everyday, it will danger for their health, because between their work time not balance with their rest time. We know that, if we do all of what teacher order to us, we will get a good mark in our report, but we will be a students that have less socialization with the other person. And if that statment really happen, they won't be develop students. Because, between EQ, IQ, and SQ that are haven by all people must be balance. In my opinion homeworks have many contribution to the advance of student. You know why, study activity in school won't 100% effective or easily to be understood by student if they are not restudy it at home.
In fact, the enemy of most student when they are at home is laziness. In can be overcame by doing HW. So, indirectly HW will help the student to understand the material well.
It's a really ridiculous if we talk that HW just make the student tired. Life is full of tiring thing. And that's why we'll be advance and bettah than before.
However, too many HW isn't effective too. It's depend on the teachers how to give HW which won't make the student feel difficulty and can enjoy it well.

First, I want to say thank you to Mr. Tris who always appreciates the students' right... Actually, homework is one of the students' obligation,,and it will help the students to be more understand about the subject which is given by the teacher in the school. But now, homework makes the students lost their rights because allmost of the teacher gives much homework... Because of that, I totally agree with the statement above. In my opinion,, homework or assignment will be effective if it is given in appropriate time and there will be not effective if there is too much homework for the students. Why I said like that??? First, too much homework just will burden the students, until they lost their time to take a rest and to get fun. If they don't have enough time to take a rest, they will get sick and it can damage them because they can't go to school and it means that they lost 8 hours or more than it to study in school. Second, too much homework will reduce the students' concentration to understand about the lesson which will be tested in the next day..so the students won't get optimum score in their test. Third, too much homework can make the students become lazy because they don't know how to finish all of their homework,,finally they will decide to cheat their friends' homework. It means that too much won't make the students become more clever but it will make the students become more stupid..and it is very dangerous if that happens to the students.. we know that, we start our lesson at 05.30 am and finish at 01.30 pm, automatically, we feel bored and tired to doing homework. if we feel tired, we can't doing homework maximal and we also can cheat homework from other friends...

Actually, homeworks are good for students because they will learn how to set their time effectively.it is useful for their future in the university. beside that, too many homeworks can avoid students from dating activity. but, it's only for students who want to do their school seriously.^_^ but, in other hand, there is no enough time for students to take a rest, so, it can bother students when they are in school because they are sleepy when theis teacher explain the lesson. there is no enough time for them to have fun or play with their friends, it makes students feel surfeited. So it means your last argument isn't appropriate with our main topic. You see, any word SOMETIMES. It means that too many HW for us isn't regularly given by the teacher. But in your topic any word "EVERYDAY".

If our topic is about we get too many HW for EVERYDAY, absolutely I'll disagree with it.
Next we see, some students who join course outside, I think they have known about consequence which will got by them by join that course. Although the course can help their preparation of Final Examination, in the other side they will get less time, energy and money. Course is a course. It is not more of ADDITIONAL lesson. But you know that our STUDY ACTIVITY in school is our MAJOR study activity that we have obligation to do it well.
Don't sigh if you can't do your task well just coz of your course. The fact that the last generation of SMADA students can do their task well although some of them also join course outside. So they key is "BALANCE".

i absolutely believe with the statement about Homework, sometimes, can support students to learn more but on the other hand it can seize students' right to enjoy their childhood times to have fun bcoz the HW can make student to get something which they get yet. for example we get task about diplonema from biology task. we become know what the diplonema is? we also get minimum time to enjoy our childhood bcoz childhood is the time for child to explore their creativation without the tasks.
Too much homework wil make us lost our time for study... And many homework are boring and take much stamina to be done I agree if there are homework as long as the homework are boxed into something that interesting, so we do that happily. If we happy on something, we would do anything what we can to get that things, Right? :p

In the people opinion, the students obligation is study because of that the teacher give the student homework. i think it is good for them because by doing the homework the student can study about the lesson. But now, all teachers give the students homework. So, the student have much homework to do and they time just will for done the homework with just less or without time to take a rest. This condition maybe be fun at first, but later the students will bore with this condition. So, when they do their homework, they want done it as fast as they can. Now, for elementary school there's a school has schedule till half past three or 4 o'clock p.m. So, this statement is so suitable for that school and I agree with that statement. Cause the children (the students) will tired after go home from school. Besides it, the student's rights to play sth(something)that they like will be seized if the teachers give them homework. Although homework can support them to learn more, but actually they'll surfeited, cause, they think that why do they've to study again in their home? Whereas, they had got it in their school before go home from school. Moreover with their course, oh ..., I can't imagine it, how tired they are!!!..... I agree with that statement,because every students need a time to enjoy their life. If a student have many homework,he can loss the time to enjoy their life,because he will very bussy to do his homework. But on the other hand it can support students to learn more. According to my opinion can help the students become diligent in study because we know that the student habits of studying is only when there is a test tomorrow, so with the homework which is given can help the students to remove their laziness. But I disagree with the teacher who give a lot of homeworks in a short spare time.When they are in the 12th grade we have to give the NE lessons a priority, and the homework which is given too much will cause the 12th grade students cannot concentrate in studying the NE lessons, and it will reduce their time to play. Because of this I think the teachers should give homework which helps the students learning, but the NE lessons homework have to get a higher priority so the students will be more concentrated to study NE lessons. Yeah..I agree with that statement.in a side, homework can support students to learn more and increase their able. Because with do the homework, students will remember studies that given from their teacher. Especially, many students didn't want to study if they haven't homework.

I think HW must be taken for students to support their study. HW can make the student understand more the point in the lesson. Helping students who are lazy because automatically HW force them to read the point of lesson before doing this HW. By taking HW, students are ready to face their future.
But, in another hand, HW spend most of their time. The total of HW which taken from some lessons make them so busy with their HW. They be more emphazise their HW, so less their time to study. HW make them less their activities like study, course of doing HW which is too much.

Because of homework indeed the alkali helped the student in learning.But, that for the student that did by self. but for that copied the work of the friend of being not useful. Moreover homework reduced the student's gathered time with the family and reduced refreshing time. so according to me homework really was not useful and more inefficient in the process learning, and better be used by the other method in the learning process that was more effective.

Homework was the activity or the obligatory task was done by the student. Because of that we must do good homework in the situation for better or worse.
With the existence of our playing time homework decreased because of many tasks that were given by the father or the mother of the teacher so as we were stress thought about these tasks.
However on the side other, with the existence of homework will pass the time vacant we who were exiled were in vain.
My conclusion, homework was quite necessary to support the process to study the student, but too much homework also was not good for the student. Because with many him homework resulted in the student having a lot to think about.

BalasHapusyeah that's right i'm completely agree with that statement. i think doing TOO MANY homework can violate the students' right to enjoy their life time (especially for my class and all 12 graders). it's not fair we go to school early in the morning and go back home in the afternoon. we get tired because of that, we need rest at home, not doing homework. well if it's only a few it doesn't matter with me but the problem is the homework we got was too many and some of them forced us to do it with our friends because they were a group assignment. well this is true, last week it's like an "everyday i go to my friends' house to do hw". after going back from school i directly went to my friends' house in turns in order to accomplish our hw and went back home in the evening (about at 9:00pm)...this is what i did (and i'm sure it must be what my classmates did too) everyday a week ago. and because of that we rarely studied at home and got no time to do our hobbies (seriously that's so unfair). we (as a student) will not only use IQ to achieve our goals in the future but will also need our EQ and SQ as well. there's no point relying only on IQ, but we need the balance between IQ, EQ, and SQ. so i think doing homework is almost pointless (umm...ineffective) because homework can only force the students to do it as if it's like an obligation (and no more than that) but sadly they can't absorb the lesson from it well because they get too tired to study by doing homework after school. i guess studying by our own will is the best choice to learn well at home, NOT doing hw, so we can use some of our spare time to get rest, do our hobbies, and associate with our friends... because by doing a lot of home work ,it can be decrease the time of the children to playing, and get funs.for example after go home the student should take a rest at home,but if they have a home work they must done their home work, so it's also can cause the children feel bored, stres, and very tired.Because almost all of their time in home they use to do alot of homework which given by their teacher.

Ok I agree with that statement, because I am a student and i feel it. I must do a lot of homework everyday. And by doing a lot of homework everyday, my play time was decreased. Beside that I rarely study and I feel so tired because i use my study and rest time for doing homework. Giving a lot of homework for 12 grade is not fair because 12 graders must be concentrate to face final examination test and they must study hard. But a lot of homework make their study time just decreased so they will not ready to face the final examination test. In my opinion, for some lessons which are not included in the national exam, homework for the XIIth grade really helps the students to understand the material. Because they have to study the National exam lessons harder than the other lessons, in order to get pass it. Because of that condition, they will be less prepared in the lessons that excluded in National Exams, so the Teacher decided to give the students some homeworks, in order that the students will be more understand about the material of excluded National Exam lessons. the final exam is three months to go, and we don't have a good preparation cause of the tons of tasks. In my thought, if this state keeps continuing, SMADA will be denoted as a school-with-so-much-tasks-to-be-done but i hope the teachers will reduce the tasks.

Yeah. Homework sometimes can support students to learn more. When we get some homework, we will try to do it well. We’ll spend a lot of time to find the answer ( try to do it with our friends or read some books which related with the subject). I know it will make us learn and learn more. But there are some negative effects when we get many homework. It will reduce the students’ right to enjoy their time to have fun or play with their friends. Having fun is our right, so if we just concentrate to do our homework, we don’t have time to have fun. Go to school in the morning, go home in the afternoon, and join some course. I think, if the teacher gives too many homework to their student, it will cause some negative effects for them, like this: The students lose their playing time, to do their hobbies, or maybe they just have less time to share with their family. Their time will be very seizured by homework. In the other side, the students also join some courses out of school time. Students often do homework in holiday, and they don't have enough time to take a rest. And if that fact happens everyday, it will danger for their health, because between their work time not balance with their rest time. We know that, if we do all of what teacher order to us, we will get a good mark in our report, but we will be a students that have less socialization with the other person. And if that statment really happen, they won't be develop students. Because, between EQ, IQ, and SQ that are haven by all people must be balance. And me, as a student in the third class, cant consentrate to face UAN and SNMPTN bcz it is disturbed by homework that given too many by the teacher of SMADA, especially the teacher of the third class.

In fact, the enemy of most student when they are at home is laziness. In can be overcame by doing HW. So, indirectly HW will help the student to understand the material well.
It's a really ridiculous if we talk that HW just make the student tired. Life is full of tiring thing. And that's why we'll be advance and bettah than before.
However, too many HW isn't effective too. It's depend on the teachers how to give HW which won't make the student feel difficulty and can enjoy it well.

Because of that, I totally agree with the statement above. In my opinion,, homework or assignment will be effective if it is given in appropriate time and there will be not effective if there is too much homework for the students. Why I said like that???
First, too much homework just will burden the students, until they lost their time to take a rest and to get fun. If they don't have enough time to take a rest, they will get sick and it can damage them because they can't go to school and it means that they lost 8 hours or more than it to study in school.
Second, too much homework will reduce the students' concentration to understand about the lesson which will be tested in the next day..so the students won't get optimum score in their test.
Third, too much homework can make the students become lazy because they don't know how to finish all of their homework,,finally they will decide to cheat their friends' homework. It means that too much won't make the students become more clever but it will make the students become more stupid..and it is very dangerous if that happens to the students..
So, I hope the teachers can understant their students and don't give them too much homework...

So it means your last argument isn't appropriate with our main topic. You see, any word SOMETIMES. It means that too many HW for us isn't regularly given by the teacher. But in your topic any word "EVERYDAY".
Is "everyday" same with "sometimes"??
If our topic is about we get too many HW for EVERYDAY, absolutely I'll disagree with it.
Next we see, some students who join course outside, I think they have known about consequence which will got by them by join that course. Although the course can help their preparation of Final Examination, in the other side they will get less time, energy and money. Course is a course. It is not more of ADDITIONAL lesson. But you know that our STUDY ACTIVITY in school is our MAJOR study activity that we have obligation to do it well.
Don't sigh if you can't do your task well just coz of your course. The fact that the last generation of SMADA students can do their task well although some of them also join course outside. So they key is "BALANCE".
It depends on ourself how to manage our time, isn't it?

Now, for elementary school there's a school has schedule till half past three or 4 o'clock p.m. So, this statement is so suitable for that school and I agree with that statement. According to my opinion can help the students become diligent in study because we know that the student habits of studying is only when there is a test tomorrow, so with the homework which is given can help the students to remove their laziness.
But I disagree with the teacher who give a lot of homeworks in a short spare time.When they are in the 12th grade we have to give the NE lessons a priority, and the homework which is given too much will cause the 12th grade students cannot concentrate in studying the NE lessons, and it will reduce their time to play.
Because of this I think the teachers should give homework which helps the students learning, but the NE lessons homework have to get a higher priority so the students will be more concentrated to study NE lessons. I hope Allah gives his Ridho.amin

I'm absolutely agree with that statement. Because with homework we can studying again at home. We know that with do our homework at home we can remind the subject that have studied at school. But sometimes homework is not efisien for us if we do the homework not by ourself we just copy to friend's work.
But homework can seize student right if the homework that given by the teacher is too much.......

it's unfair. not only for students but also for teachers too.
fisrtly. for students. hw violates students' right!!
as a students, i have less time to do something i like. of course, my fisrt priority is school. but for the second place??
the answer is school, school, and school...
hobby or hang out with my friends? i seldom do it. my whole time is just for hw.
is there nothing else.
after school, doing hw fisrt. after that study for the next subject. then, sleep..
it's keep going for the day. again and again. don't you think my life is flat?!?!
i'm teenage too. i should have many useful activities besides school...
and for the second reason.. for teacher, i understand that teachers give hw to the students in onder to make them study well. but, hw is not the the way. teacher swill get more tired of hw. they should check their students' hw all time.
there are so many way to make the students smart. they can create enjoy learning at school. make educational game or take them out to have outdoor class..
